How I became a Python Master

My journey of learning Python began with a desire to dive deep into the world of programming. Spending countless hours coding daily, initially as a student and later as a professional, my skills steadily improved. However, I noticed a plateau in my learning curve. That's why, a year ago, I made a deliberate choice to embark on the journey to become a master of Python. Little did I know that this journey would take me beyond the realms of syntax and algorithms, leading me to unexpected encounters and unforgettable experiences.

Don't miss out on the ending.

Before I set out on my journey I resolved to act from first-order principles. Persisting in this quest would be the challenge of a lifetime, one that I could only hope to achieve by standing on the shoulders of giants.

I read and absorbed all I could from the greatest thinkers of various domains until these principles became a part of me. Here is the wisdom that guided me:

"The only thing between you and your goal is the story you keep telling yourself."
Jordan Belfort

"The only way to do great work is to love what you do."
Steve Jobs

"It's common to want the results. It's rare to want the lifestyle."
James Clear

"Of those to whom much is given, much is required."
John F. Kennedy

"Success is not final, failure is not fatal: It is the courage to continue that counts."
Winston Churchill

"I've failed over and over and over again in my life and that is why I succeed."
Michael Jordan

"The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing."
Stephen R. Covey

"The only place where success comes before work is in the dictionary."
Vidal Sassoon

"Do. Or do not. There is no try."
Master Yoda in Star Wars (Movie)

"When you come to a fork in the road, take it."
Yogi Berra

With these principles in mind, nothing could stop me from my quest. Yet, after this intense study, I decided to first take some time off and travel to Sri Lanka for a month.

There, the unexpected happened:

The principles of peak-performance, so deeply rooted in my thinking, must have guided me subconsciously to a place where I finally and at once achieved the mastery I set out to conquer:

I hope my journey inspires you to start your own. I guarantee you: in the end, all the effort is worth it.
